Who can service my Volvo?
Your Volvo can be serviced by any shop you chose. During the warranty period it is not necessary to take your Volvo to the dealer. You should make sure that the shop you use employs ASE certified technicians, uses Volvo parts and understands your Volvo warranty and it's conditions.

How often should I change my oil?
We recommend every 3 months or 3,000 miles. Oil not only lubricates, but cools. Oil also builds up with acids after a long period of time.

Are Volvo turbos more costly to maintain?
No they are not, if you keep up on all scheduled services. The newer model turbo's are oil & water cooled, verses just oil cooled. We have not had many new style turbo's go bad.

How often do I replace the timing belt?
Models vary greatly. Please Email us with your make, year, and model number and we will be happy to advise you.

How often should I tune my Volvo?
All tune ups fall under a maintenance schedule. They are usually tuned at 30,000 mile intervals.

The service light comes on for 2 min. after I start my Volvo.
The service light is a reminder that your next service is due. It is connected to the odometer and reset by the mechanic when your Volvo is serviced.

How often do I need to service my transmission?
We recommend that the transmission fluid be changed every 20,000 miles or sooner under severe towing usage.

What does it mean when my check engine light comes on?
The check engine light is part of a complex system that monitors your fuel and ignition systems. If the light comes on, a failure in one of the systems has been detected by the system computer. The engine systems should be checked as soon as possible by a qualified Volvo mechanic with the right books and tools. This light should not be ignored. Ignoring a check engine light can turn a minor problem into a major one.

My Volvo pulls to one side while driving.
When a car pulls to one side while driving you should have the tires checked first. If the tires are ok, have a front end alignment done and have the mechanic check for worn or damaged front end part. All front end parts should be in good working order before completing a front end alignment. We recommend a front end alignment on an annual schedule.

The brake pedal vibrates while braking.
Brake pedal vibration that is not also felt in the steering wheel is most likely coming from warped rotors and or mechanical problems causing warped rotors.
